Wanneer Megan Turner haar diploma behaalt aan de New Yorkse politieacademie, gaat voor haar een levensdroom in vervulling. Alles lijkt prachtig: het uniform, de badge, het pistool... Maar dan loopt alles gruwelijk verkeerd. Op haar eerste nachtelijke patrouille verhindert ze een overval in een supermarkt en schiet daarbij een gewapende overvaller neer. Plots blijkt het wapen van de bandiet onvindbaar en de getuigen willen de verklaring van Megan over zijn wapenbezit niet staven. Megan wordt geschorst wegens het doden van een ongewapende verdachte. De stad dient intussen af te rekenen met een reeks brutale, schaamteloze moorden. Het departement moordzaken onder leiding van inspecteur Nick Mann zit met de handen in het haar. Tussen de schijnbaar onsamenhangende moorden blijkt toch een aanknopingspunt te bestaan.
Nee, helaas is Blue Steel nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
