Na een moeizame relatiebreuk dreigt Ariane financieel ten onder te gaan. Dankzij haar moeder vindt ze werk als vertaalster in een conservenfabriek. Daar bemiddelt ze tussen haar arrogante baas Stephane en de Guatemalese uitzendkrachten. Om aan zijn eisen tegemoet te komen, zet Ariane de onderbetaalde arbeiders voortdurend onder druk en laat ze hen overwerken in beroerde omstandigheden. Wanneer ze bevriend raakt met enkele arbeiders begint Ariane tegen haar meerdere op te treden.
