Het verhaal over het aandoenlijke biggetje Babe speelt zich af op een boerderij, waar het dier is gedoemd om als kerstdiner te dienen voor de familie Hoggett. Boer Hoggett heeft het varken gewonnen, nadat hij diens juiste gewicht had geraden tijdens een jaarmarkt. Op de boerderij raakt Babe bevriend met de collie Fly, die juist een nest jongen heeft geworpen en die Babe graag adopteert. Fly leert hem hoe hij zich moet gedragen als schaapsherder. Alles gaat goed totdat Babe een nieuw maatje krijgt in de gedaante van de egoïstische eend Ferdinand die alleen maar kwajongensstreken wil uithalen.
Nee, helaas is Babe: The Gallant Pig nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
