Politieman Edward Maulis raakt geobsedeerd door de verdwijning van een jong meisje. Haar spoor leidt naar een eiland waar de bewoners zich vreemd gedragen. Maar Maulis laat zich niet uit het veld slaan en ontdekt dat de eilandbewoners zich bezighouden met bizarre, heidense rituelen.
