De alleenstaande moeder Elaine is verontrust door het agressieve gedrag van haar zoontje Martin. Wanneer het jongetje één van zijn klasgenoten bijt, neemt Elaine, wanhopig op zoek naar antwoorden, Martin mee naar de vervreemde ouders van zijn overleden vader. Daar ontdekt Elaine de ware aard van de familie en moet ze kiezen tussen acceptatie of vechten voor het lot van haar zoon.
