Nadat Steven Kovak door zijn vriendin uit zijn appartement wordt geschopt, trekt hij een nieuw verblijf in. Hij schuift Chip, een medewerker van de kabelmaatschappij, 50 dollar toe om zo gratis kabel te krijgen. Chip pakt deze gelegenheid aan om koste wat het kost Steven's beste vriend te worden.
